Throughout our years of designing, planning and organising wedding and events, there are numerous questions we are asked time and again. We’ve put together some of the most frequently asked questions and their answers to help you to navigate the often confusing aspects of how to plan a wedding and working with Burnt Orange Events in particular. Why should I hire a wedding planner?

 

Even with the most laid-back, casual and intimate of weddings, there are a multitude of details to attend to, decisions to be made, arrangements to be planned, and people, supplies and equipment to organise, and that’s all before the wedding day. A wedding planner or wedding designer will help you to navigate all those details, will support you every step of the way and provides the benefit of their experience, expertise, industry contacts and relationships. A professional wedding planner will take care of all the details so you can relax and enjoy the lead up to and the wedding itself.

 

Are you a registered business? Do you have insurance?

 

Burnt Orange Events is an Australian Registered Business and is fully-insured.

 

What types of weddings do you organise?

 

You name it – we can do it. Burnt Orange Events can organise any type of wedding including destination weddings, weekend long weddings, double weddings, eco-friendly or green weddings, commitment ceremonies, renewal of vows. Our team specialise in bespoke weddings to ensure that each couple get a wedding day designed and styled just for them. We cater for all religions and cultural backgrounds too.

 

What type of wedding events planning do you provide?

 

We specialise in wedding planning services that suit you – full service wedding planning, wedding day management. Our approach is to have an initial consultation and from there determine the level of service and package that best suits you.

 

Do you accept kickbacks or commissions from any suppliers or vendors?

 

Absolutely not – we work for you, not suppliers or vendors. We only recommend suppliers and vendors that we have previously worked with and those who we can be assured will provide a quality product or service and at an appropriate price. Burnt Orange Events makes recommendations based on your budget, style and wedding needs.

 

Is there a fee for an initial consultation?

 

There’s no fee or charge for an initial consultation – this is a chance for us to meet, and have a chat about your plans and get to know each other.

 

What sized weddings have you planned and managed in the past?

 

The Burnt Orange Events team has experience in planning and managing weddings and events where the guest lists ranges from 2 people up to 9000 people. We have the know-how to organise events from the most intimate of occasions to festivities with the largest of guest lists.

 

How much communication can I expect?

 

Short answer – as much as you need. When you select a Burnt Orange Events wedding planning package the amount of face-to-face, telephone and email communication is unlimited. We’re here to support you every step of the way, whenever you need us.

 

Will you be there on the wedding day?

 

We wouldn’t miss it! Our support doesn’t end until the last slice of cake has been served and the reception venue is packed up. We’re there for you throughout the entire event.

 

How many weddings or events will you coordinate on my wedding day?

 

Just one – yours! When you engage Burnt Orange Events and book in a date – we’re all yours. And if your event runs over a few days or a weekend – we’ll be there throughout the festivities, focused only on you and your special event.

How many assistants will you have there on the wedding day?

 

The number of assistants will depend on a few different factors including – the number of locations, the size of the bridal party, the size of the guest list, the length of the wedding and the amount of on-the-day styling required. We can confirm this with you closer to the day and when the majority of your plans have been confirmed.

 

What other types of events do you plan and manage?

 

While we love to plan weddings, we can help organise a wide range of events from baby showers to corporate events, bridal showers, birthday parties and anniversary parties. Just get in touch to have a chat about what you’re planning.

 

When is the best time to start working with a wedding planner?

It’s never really too early or too late but, we do recommend that you start working with your wedding planner before you making bookings such as venue and ceremony location, mainly so that we can offer assistance and advice throughout the entire process. We’re here to help you navigate all the details.

 

Do you charge an hourly fee?

 

No, all our services are charged at a flat rate so you know exactly the cost involved before we get started.

 

Can I still engage a wedding planner even though I have a small budget?

 

Absolutely, Burnt Orange Events provides a bespoke wedding event planning service so we can design a package that sorts you and your budget. Just give us call and we can chat about your options.

 

How do you and your team dress for our wedding or event?

 

That depends of the style and theme of your event or wedding. You set the dress code and we’ll match it, without outshining the bride, of course.

Can I engage a wedding planner but still be involved in the planning and design process?

 

We want you to be involved in the wedding plans as much or as little as you like – it’s your day after all. We  actively encourage you to be involved in the process so we can ensure that you get the wedding of your dreams.

 

What are your terms and conditions of hire?

 

We require a minimum order of $150 for wedding ceremony and reception hire pieces. Burnt Orange Events requires a $150 deposit, with the balance of the hire charge due the week prior to the wedding or event.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

 

At Burnt Orange Events we understand that there are sometimes the need for plans to be cancelled or changed. While we will endeavour to accommodate any change of date, if that is not possible you will forfeit your deposit and any progressive payments made.

 

My wedding venue provides a wedding coordinator so do I still need a wedding planner?

 

Venue wedding coordinators only work with the details and plans relating to their particular venue, such as menus, table settings and floor plans. As a wedding planner we coordinate all aspects of your special day from the entertainment and transport, right through to organising the cake delivery and the seating plan. If your venue offers a wedding coordinator we will happily work together with them so that everything runs to plan.

 

Do you have a minimum spend for events and weddings?

 

Part of the Burnt Orange Event mission is to ensure that every bride can have the wedding of her dreams, regardless of budget. For this reason, we do not have a minimum spend for weddings or events. We can work with your budget and even help you to determine a realistic budget with your wedding plans in mind if you have not yet set on.

 

Do you plan and manage destination weddings?

 

We love to travel and we particularly love to design, style, plan and manage weddings where our couple and their friends and family get to spend days celebrating together. We’d love for you to get in touch so we can chat about your destination wedding plans.

Isn’t a wedding event planner just an additional expense?

 

Not necessarily. When you consider the amount of time that goes into planning a wedding you will find that the cost of a wedding planner is justified. And engaging a professional and experienced wedding event specialist will help you to avoid any costly mistakes in regards to purchases, suppliers and vendors.

 

We find that many of our brides are professionals, so the cost of a wedding planner to handle all the details so they can concentrate on their careers during the planning process and enjoying themselves on the day is worth the cost.
