Ash & Christa’s Wedding Journey
Christa came to me as she was a little lost on where to head with her styling and also used our on-the-day wedding manager package for a stress free day. With the spectacular Ocean View Estate Winery as the venue a country theme was a must. When I first met Christa I developed a creative crush on her. She was so enthusiastic about making as much as possible and she had the skills to match. With our creative hats on we hit the fabric stores and stumbled upon a gorgeous mint green and ivory polka dot material that Christa turned her nose up at. But with my persistence I was able to find a subtle ivory floral print and a coral geometric material that tied all of the three patterns together. Christa was able to now visualise the style I was trying to create and she loved it, especially because the mint matched her shoes. With our craft dates set Christa & I went about making all the little details for the wedding. Christa even taught me how to make the most amazing pinwheels I have ever seen. These pinwheels played a large part in remembering her brother throughout the day and only though close family new about the representation it really did make him feel present at the wedding. It is the small and sentimental details of weddings that really do make a difference.

Throughout the day I made sure I had little surprises for Christa & Ash one being their shutter door entry to the ceremony. With the use of bunting and some clever little details it made a great entrance for our stunning bride. The laid back picnic drinks after the ceremony on the lawn was also a great way for guests to mingle and enjoy some delicious food from the team at Ocean View Estate Winery. The reception was a cocktail theme with a great cover band set-up out on the deck where guests spent most of their night dancing away. The entire day was so heartfelt and joyful. Christa & Ash are a beautiful couple and it was such a pleasure to be a part of their wonderful day. I wish them all the best and can’t wait o catch up for some more DIY sessions.

It started with….. a love of the beach and frangipani’s. What they ended up with was a little different, but exactly what they wanted. The first task was to find a venue and what we found was a hidden gem up in the sunshine coast hinterlands – Capriole Estate. This venue gave us great opportunity but it also changed the theming and gave the couple the chance to have a weekend long celebration with their guests as accommodation was onsite.

With Lorenne’s Pinterest inspiration board in front of me I found myself a little lost. I found myself one day in my favourite material store and there was my answer an ivory and navy blue striped number that would serve as the table runners and also incorporate a rustic beach theme. From here I found myself in search of whimsical centrepieces. With the help of Indigo Bark I was able to have beautiful natural logs. I envisaged them being caressed with moss and delicate flowers with the dancing light of candles creating a wonderful ambience. With the help of Myfanwes I was able to create my vision. With the lighting being a key feature in this outdoor reception we needed enough lighting so guests could see their food but not so strong that you could not take in the beautiful stars above. We went with festoon lighting above the tables and over the central dance floor with soft hanging flowers that created the whimsical feel Lorenne had been seeking. Lee the groom was not left out either. With Chelsea Football team being his favourite sporting club it was only fitting that they had a football pitch as their seating chart and his favourite player’s shirts as the table numbers. With a mixture of mismatched timber chairs it really did bring the entire look together.

Lee and Lorenne are such an amazing young couple. Lorenne had great energy and wanted to do everything. With Lee’s help we had to stop her from making 8 bridesmaid dresses, her own wedding cake and bouquets. We did however allow her to make her amazing handcrafted boxed invitations with a personalised logo that she had drawn and we also let her make her veil. They also bottled their own beer that was served on the night that really made for a great personal touch. Lee and Lorenne were on a tight budget like most couples in their 20’s but with my help and some money crunching we were able to get below the $15,000 mark. This included a two night stay onsite with no compromise. Entertainment was a mammoth 7 piece Scar band that was the best display of live music I have seen at a wedding. They did not have a bar tender as it was an open bar where everyone could help themselves but my team made sure it was constantly stocked, this also saved money for their budget. Catering was also done by Burnt Orange Events(yes I am a caterer as well…sssshhhhh)and there was certainly no compromising with fresh local produce from Kenilworth cheeses, local prawns, salmon and lamb.

Overall this wedding was amazing and it was such a pleasure to be involved. I wish them all the best and truly felt apart of the family by the time the weekend was over.

There is nothing better than a family wedding, especially when it is your little brother. They say never to mix business with family. How could I not be involved in creating such a memorable day for my own family.

First step the venue. With a rustic/vintage theme in mind it was only fitting that we were looking for a barn. They found a gorgeous barn up the coast that they booked in straight away. Unfortunately their first venue became double booked. So a little disheartened and upset we went in search again. Thankfully we stumbled upon Hitched at the Boomerang and they fell in love. They were able to bring in their preferred caterer and style the venue themselves.

With the venue booked and the theme decided, it was time to put Megan’s ideas into fruition. With Josh on the tools, Megan, my sisters and Mum all helping to lend a hand with crafting and myself finding them old rustic wares and putting the pieces together we were able to create a wedding that truly reflected the two of them.

Our meadow package was created for these two and it was a perfect setting for the ceremony and its first outing. Guests were then able to partake in a number of lawn games or either chill out in our picnic area with a cool drink. This really set the mood for the wedding; it was relaxed whilst also allowing guests to socialise and let their hair down.

It was a wonderful experience working with family & YES, I would do it again. All I ask from these two now is nieces we have enough boys in the family.

With the extremely talented DEUS photography capturing Sam & Cath's day, you are able to see the emotion felt throughout the day. With their laid back and calm natures complementing each other this shy and beautiful couple were the first couple to make me cry at their ceremony. It was an emotional day just full of love.

After weeks of rain, we were blessed with a beautiful sunny day for Claire and Grant’s wedding.
The setting was an exquisite chapel in the grounds of The Hyatt, Sanctuary Cove. As the stunning bride entered the chapel she took the groom’s breath away.
The joyous atmosphere definitely added to the overall excitement felt by all.
It was truly a pleasure to behold the union of these two wonderful souls…

Matt and Tamara chose the incredible grounds of The Indiginous Cultural Centre to make their already gorgeous family official. Tamara looked stunningly beautiful as she proceeded down the aisle to meet her handsome Kiwi. It was a casual and natural affair that showed this couples love for each other. I was honoured to be apart of such a memorable and wonderful day.
